The 1st Ferrari Sold
The 1st Ferrari sold by Gaston Andrey in 1953
Mike Garber was a very successful businessman in New Haven, Connecticut. Mike enjoyed fine automobiles, especially sports cars. He met Gaston Andrey at an SCCA event. Mike had decided that he wanted a very interesting and special Ferrari.
A Legendary Ferrari Connection
Gaston Andrey reached out to Luigi Chinetti, who was the importer of Ferrari at that time. Luigi advised Gaston of a very special Ferrari that was going to be in the 1954 World Motor Sports Show held in New York City.
In those days Luigi enjoyed having the cars pre-sold before he would get them from the factory. So Mike agreed to purchase and take delivery after the show. This particular Ferrari 250 Europa #01313 EU was a one-off design by Vignali.
